How to rent an apartment in Prague

In this workshop you will learn how to search for good apartments in an efficient and structured way. You will be more confident in assessing the quality of apartments, dealing with landlords and with the rental process.

The first part of the workshop is theoretical. It will take you through technical topics (types of rent, typical features per type of building incl. their impact on safety, energy usage, locations,…), process topics (search process, finding agreement with landlords,…), which rental related costs to count with, which checks to do upfront, the moving-in process, how to deal with maintenance and issues during your rental, and how to end your rental period.

In the second, shorter, part of the workshop you will practice what you have learned. You will create a step-by-step plan for your apartment search. It doesn’t matter if you’re searching now or making a long term plan to find your perfect rental apartment. You will receive as well practical tips about how contact landlords/agents, get invited to viewing and be chosen as tenant.

During the workshop you will receive material which you can use during the practical part and take home. Upon completion of the workshop, you will have your plan of action in place.

This workshop has been adapted to the increasingly difficult Prague rental market in recent years. It is suitable for everyone planning to look for a rental apartment in Prague and wanting to get prepared.
